SCISSOR TRUSSES ON UNSTABLE SUPPORTING STRUCTURES

The aesthetic appeal of a raked ceiling internally or externally can be very appealing to architects & draftsman who often specify scissor trusses as a prefabricated truss solution. They are typically located internally within a building to accentuate a particular room, often over larger open plan living or dining areas, where the supporting structure is stable in most cases to resist the horizontal forces from scissor trusses.
