Some Tips & Assistance to Help Fabricators Promote Renewable Timber Framing

There’s no question that FTMA members are passionate manufacturing businesses who value the environmental credentials of renewable timber framing.
However, our shared challenge is to ensure Australian builders know about this too. They already know the practical, functional benefits of timber framing because they prefer to build with it. But do they understand what an important choice they’re making for our sustainable future when building with timber as opposed to alternatives. Furthermore, do they see this choice as something they should promote and put into their client journeys with new homeowners? That’s the objective of our campaign to achieve this, especially with big builders.
And, there are some simple steps that fabricators can take too to help spread the key messages of our campaign.
Do you have a website?
If so, does it have any content on “why timber framing?”. If not, what a missed opportunity this is and we’re happy to be plagiarized! Here’s the link to our webpage so please use any/ all of this material on your company websites and share the link on your page.

Do you have a builders’ bulletin, newsletter or magazine?
Understanding this sort of activity is probably the domain of the larger fabricators, our campaign can offer articles for your builder communications mediums. We’ve recently worked with Bowens who will publish an article about the campaign and benefits for builders in their upcoming November issue of Building Insights. Thanks Bowens!
Have you shown your builder clients the carbon calculation on every job quote, delivery docket and invoice?
All 3 nail plate companies, who are also all FY26 funding partners of our campaign, have provided this tool in their software. It’s an opportunity to point this out next time you’re visiting a builder client.

Do you provide any onsite signage or branded building wrap?
What a great opportunity to include the environmental messages of our campaign alongside your own company logo!
This sort of signage might be celebrating a business anniversary milestone.
