That's why FTMA is pleased to be hosting a special webinar with the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme to help members understand an alternative workforce solution that is already delivering positive results for many businesses in our industry.

The PALM Scheme allows Australian businesses to recruit workers from 9 Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste when there are not enough local workers available to fill vacancies.
Many frame and truss manufacturers currently participating in the scheme speak highly of the workers they have recruited, citing strong attendance, commitment, reliability and the positive impact they have had on workplace culture.

During this webinar, representatives from the PALM Scheme Stakeholder Engagement Team and Operations & Quality Team will provide an overview of how the scheme works, who is eligible, and the process involved in becoming an approved employer.

Once approved, businesses can access two worker streams:
• Short-term workers, up to 9 months
• Long-term workers, from 1 to 4 years.

The PALM Scheme not only helps Australian businesses address workforce shortages, but it also creates valuable opportunities for workers to develop skills, gain experience and provide financial support to their families back home.
