The latest edition of the quarterly TMS report has been released
Key TMS results (March quarter 2026)
Upward price movements for untreated MGP10 and MGP12 ranged between 0.1% and 2.0% over the March quarter.
- Price movements for treated decking and sleepers were mixed and ranged between −0.6% lower and 1.9% higher.
- Price movements for MDF and plywood panels were downwards and ranged between −2.0% and −4.5% lower.
- Particleboard prices ranged between no change and 1.0% higher.
- Prices for LVL products decreased by as much as −0.8%, while I-joist/I-beam prices remained stable.
About the TMS
The TMS (Timber Market Survey) has been in operation for over 25 years ago and is supported by major Australian forest growers.
The TMS provides reliable and independent information on timber price trends to support better decision-making, fairer pricing, and a stronger, more transparent timber market in Australia.
The TMS collects domestic and imported timber price movement data through a representative sample of timber market participants in eastern Australia (VIC, NSW, QLD).
Confidentiality is paramount
Funding organisations (forest growers) only see aggregated, state level price movements (in %) for any timber products covered by the TMS, and they do not have any knowledge of who participates in the TMS.
The TMS Project is administered by timber industry professionals who are bound by confidentiality agreements.
